Returning to our Roots

I grew up in a practice based faith and while my path has diverged, those rhythms of ritual are deeply engrained in me.

As I embrace them, my faith continues to deepen.

Rituals help me enter in— they usher the way for my body, mind and heart to connect:

with each other,

with The Collective,

with God

(However you call upon Presence, all names belong here…Source/Divine/Infinite/Spirit)

Whether it’s lighting a candle, watching a sunset, planting a flower, using essential oil, working with crystals, meditating or walking in nature, I bless it with intention, so my attention will follow.

When dedicated to Love, fear cannot reside therein —

and the space I embody becomes Holy Ground.

Recently, as we were packing up our condo to move, I was led to hang a Saint Christopher pendant on our doorway.

Each time I left the house, I would wear it— then return it to my door upon arrival.

It still hangs now upon the wreath adorning our new house.

My girlfriend texted me yesterday to say she’d been guided to do the same.

Here we are, two deconstructed “Christians” — through, I’m not sure either of us would identify with that label anymore — embracing our roots and religious iconography.

Christ has never left us.

Nor have we left Christ.

That Consciousness continues to abide… and lead and guide us through these difficult times.

Saint Christopher has many meanings for different people and countless stories attached to him.

Through my own studies and musings with The Divine, I came to understand Him in this way:

the protector of travellers and wanderers-- specifically those who want to travel unseen and unharmed, in search of safe passage.

… like being forced to leave home, to escape death, yet knowing it's equally as dangerous to try and leave.

Read between the lines and you’ll find wisdom applicable to this time in history.

Interestingly, no one truly knows Saint Christopher’s real name.

They call him The Mystical Unnamed Saint

What they do know of his life on earth is that he was fascinated by power. Christopher travelled "the world" working for different kings and pharaohs at the time.

He knew he was supposed to serve "The Most High" but it wasn't until he learnt of Jesus that he understood true power wasn't in the hands of the government and powers that be on earth.

…. also very applicable to this time.

Perhaps that’s why my friend and I, were both led to wear his pendant.

I share these stories as an encouragement and reminder:

Pay special attention to your intuition, right now. Heed the tiny inklings and promptings you feel and are sensing….

even if you can’t logically explain or understand them.

There is a mystical, Divine quality to ALL of Life.

Trust that it is leading and guiding you —

and though it may be dark at the moment, there is always a glimmer of Light.

Follow it to safe passage.

PS: look for the Helpers… they’re always there. Including me.
